I did have my doubts about the "push down on the shoulder blades" method from the first moment she suggested it, however, she said she had over 20 years experience in training dogs so I thought I would give her the benefit of the doubt. Ha.

Yes, Tony certainly is of STRONG character but I don't know about going so far as to call him "noble". Since we never saw his mother, I have my suspicions she was really a mule or donkey, going by how stubborn he is.

When the teacher wasn't looking, I deployed my "sweep the legs out from under them" technique but he proved too rubbery for that, too. Ashley told me a little while ago, as I was relating the whole debacle to her boyfriend, that Lexie never really laid down by herself. She picked her up and wrestled her to the ground and held her there with the weight of her body.

We just tried to show her boyfriend how nasty and growly Tony gets when we try to make him lay down the way the teacher told us to. The little stinker calmly went down when we pushed on his shoulders and laid there looking up at Mark with big, brown innocent eyes as if to say, "They're lying, Mark, I was a good as gold." Hmmmph
